Intro of case

Reswap.in approached Vaxx Studio with the vision of creating a seamless eCommerce experience for refurbished smartphones and laptops a niche that demands both trust and functionality. Our goal was to design a platform that not only showcases product value but also builds user confidence. From wireframing in Figma to launching on Shopify, we delivered a clean, user-friendly storefront optimized for conversions, performance, and brand credibility in the competitive tech resale market.

Understanding User Needs: Before beginning the design process for Reswap.in, we conducted a deep dive into the behavior and expectations of users shopping for refurbished electronics. Our research revealed that trust, clarity, and ease of comparison were top priorities for buyers. With this insight, we focused on creating a clean, transparent interface with clear product details, warranty information, and quality assurance badges. Every design decision was guided by the goal of simplifying the user journey while reinforcing credibility and value.
Persona Creation: To ensure the platform met the real needs of its users, we developed detailed user personas based on market research, competitor analysis, and potential customer feedback. Two key personas guided the design process: Tech-Savvy Budget Seeker: A college student or young professional looking for affordable devices with solid performance. Prioritizes price, warranty, and product specs. Value-Conscious Parent: A mid-aged buyer purchasing a reliable second-hand phone or laptop for their child or family use. Seeks ease of use, trustworthiness, and verified quality. These personas helped us tailor the design and content strategy emphasizing transparency, product filtering, warranty details, and secure transactions to deliver a user experience that speaks directly to their needs and concerns.
Customer Journey Mapping: To optimize the user experience on Reswap.in, we mapped out the complete customer journey from discovery to purchase. This process helped identify key interaction points and potential drop-off areas. The journey typically began with a Google or social media search, followed by landing on a product or category page. From there, users compared specifications, checked warranty and pricing, and moved to checkout. We ensured each step was streamlined with clear CTAs, easy product filters, and trust-building elements like reviews and guarantees. By addressing pain points such as lack of product clarity or complicated navigation, we enhanced user flow and reduced friction resulting in a smoother path to conversion and improved customer satisfaction.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes: Before diving into the visual design, we created low-fidelity wireframes to outline the structure, layout, and user flow of the Reswap.in website. These wireframes focused on key elements like homepage navigation, product listing pages, filters, and checkout paths allowing us to test usability and functionality without visual distractions. By prototyping early, we gathered feedback on layout priorities and interaction logic, ensuring that the final design would meet both user expectations and business goals. This phase was crucial in building a solid foundation for a seamless, conversion-focused eCommerce experience.
